we will always aim to be at your property 5-10mn before our due time. (this 5-10mn are not charged), If the work required needs more time we will always let you know so you can decide, if to extend our services or stop at the originally Booked time.

pls note if the work passes the Hour it will be charges in 30 minutes increments.,

our 10% dicount is only avalible for on going booking contracts please contact us for arrangements.

Terms  &  Conditions

THE HANDY FIX

Terms & Conditions – Handyman Services (Sole Trader)These Terms & Conditions apply to all work carried out by TheHandyFix, a UK-based sole trader handyman service.

By booking work, accepting a quote or estimate, or allowing work to commence, the client agrees to these Terms & Conditions.

  1. Rates & Minimum Booking

    •    Standard rate: £60.00 per hour or £30.00 per half hour
   •    Minimum booking: 1 hour
   •    Time is charged from arrival on site until work is completed or stopped at the client’s request.

  • out of hours are from= 7pm to 6am monday to friday and weekend saturday and sunday.

  • out of hours rates: £100.00 per hour

2. Quotes, Estimates & Acceptance

    •    Quoted work is priced for specific agreed tasks only.
   •    All quotes are provided in writing, either via WhatsApp message or PDF quotation.
   •    Estimates are approximate and may change due to additional work, materials, or hidden issues.
   •    Acceptance of a quote, estimate, booking, or appointment (including via WhatsApp or email) constitutes acceptance of these Terms & Conditions.

3. Scope of Work

    •    Work is limited strictly to the agreed scope.
   •    Any additional work must be approved by the client and may incur additional charges.

4. Deposits

    •    A deposit is required for quoted or estimated jobs before work begins.
   •    Deposits are non-refundable once materials are purchased or time is allocated.
   •    No deposit is required for hourly-rate work.

5. Payment Terms

    •    Payment is due on the same day upon completion, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
   •    Where agreed, payment must be made within a maximum of 7 calendar days.
   •    Late payments may incur reminder fees, recovery costs, and statutory interest.
   •    Ownership of supplied or installed materials remains with TheHandyFix until full payment is received.

6. Client Responsibilities

   •    The client is responsible for providing accurate and complete information about the property, including access, restrictions, utilities, parking, permits, and known faults.
   •    TheHandyFix is not responsible for delays or additional costs caused by missing or incorrect information.

​

7. Cancellations & Access
   •    A minimum of 24 hours’ notice is required for cancellations or rescheduling.
   •    Missed appointments, late cancellations, or refusal of access may be charged.
   •    Safe, clear access to the work area must be provided.​

​

8. Health & Safety
   •    TheHandyFix reserves the right to refuse or stop work if conditions are unsafe.
   •    Any time spent on site up to that point remains chargeable.

​

​9. Materials & Parts
   •    Client-supplied materials are fitted without warranty from TheHandyFix.
   •    TheHandyFix is not responsible for manufacturer defects or failures of supplied parts.
   •    Delays caused by incorrect, faulty, or unavailable materials are not the responsibility of TheHandyFix.​

​

10. Existing Conditions & Hidden Defects
   •    TheHandyFix is not responsible for hidden or pre-existing issues including (but not limited to):
   •    Old or unsafe plumbing
   •    Electrical faults
   •    Rotten timber
   •    Structural defects
   •    Additional work arising from such issues will be quoted separately.​

11. Concealed Services Disclaimer
   •    TheHandyFix is not liable for damage to concealed pipes, cables, or services where their presence was not apparent or               disclosed.​

​

12. Utilities Isolation
   •    TheHandyFix is not responsible for issues arising from the isolation or reconnection of existing water, gas, or electrical supplies where systems are old, faulty, or non-compliant.

​

​13. Workmanship Guarantee
   •    Workmanship is guaranteed for 3 months from completion unless otherwise stated in writing.
   •    This does not cover:
   •    Wear and tear
   •    Misuse or neglect
   •    Pre-existing faults
   •    Third-party or supplied materials

​

​14. Snagging & Reporting Issues
   •    Any issues must be reported within 7 days of completion.
   •    No liability is accepted for issues reported after this period unless covered by the workmanship guarantee.​

​

15. Photography & Records
   •    The client agrees that TheHandyFix may take photographs before, during, and after work for record-keeping and dispute resolution.

​

16. Landlords & Letting Agents

    •    The person authorising the work is fully responsible for payment.
   •    Access must be arranged in advance.
   •    Parking fees, permits, congestion charges, or similar costs are the client’s responsibility unless agreed otherwise in writing.

​

17. Suspension of Work

   •    TheHandyFix reserves the right to suspend or terminate work if payment terms are not met.

​

18. Force Majeure

   •    TheHandyFix is not liable for delays caused by events beyond reasonable control, including illness, emergencies, extreme weather, or supplier delays.

​

19. Liability

    •    Liability is limited to the value of the work carried out.
   •    TheHandyFix is not liable for indirect or consequential losses.
   •    Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

​

20. Governing Law

    •    These Terms & Conditions are governed by UK law.

 

All work carried out by TheHandyFix is subject to our Terms & Conditions.
